|
|
On November 1st this year, Jean-Claude Trichet will become president of the European Central Bank. Newly printed euro banknotes will be signed by him from that time on - at least in theory. We will have to see when the first banknotes with his signature will enter the circulation and be discovered by EuroTracer users. To prepare for that, I just updated the insert page and introduced a new pull down menu - to be evaluated later.
According to the ECB, the copyright year will not change together with the change of the signature. For the time being, the year will be "2002". |

Here are samples of signatures of the old and new ECB Presidents, taken from the publications "Review of the international role of the euro" of December 2002 and December 2003 (http://www.ecb.int/pub/):
To quote the FAQ at the ECB-site:
| ECB's FAQ wrote: | QUESTION 13
When will the euro banknotes bear the signature of the new President of the ECB?
ANSWER
It is a legal requirement that the euro banknotes bear the signature of the incumbent President of the ECB. Consequently, Mr. Jean-Claude Trichet’s signature has been printed on the euro banknotes since he became President on 1 November 2003. The entry into circulation of these banknotes depends on the production timetables and stock management policies, which vary from country to country. |

On 2004-06-30, nexidus of Vienna inserted 3 italian €100-notes with Trichet's signature; they are from printing plate J012. Here is a picture of one of them.
And sergelescargot of Brussels inserted yesterday 9 new german €500-notes of plate R008.
See http://www.eurotracer.net/statistics/notes.php?qid=1790 for details. |

Here is an image of Trichet's signature on one of the first 500 EUR-notes, provided by sergelescargot of Brussels:
For the latest Tricht-notes, see http://www.eurotracer.net/statistics/notes.php?qid=313.

Here is a picture of two X/10/P005-notes, one by Duisenberg and one by Trichet.

Finally, today I found my first Trichet note ever in the ATM of my local bank: one single, already used S/50/J018 |

Hi,
is it possible to change the signature of this note:
P08664203*** 10 € G010C2 WFD unknown Spain 08021 Barcelona Angelino [entered to EBT on 2005-12-28] 2005-12-28
it isn't from Duisenberg, this note wears the Trichet signature.
Thank you
EDIT by ET: I changed that. |

Great table!!!!
But, there are L035 20 euro notes and J029 50 euro notes too.
And the spanish 20 notes from Trichet are ALL M013 and M014. M013-M020 should be a mistake.
I'm not sure but I think austrian 10 € notes are F006 and F007. |
